“It represents a concept of "in-between-ness." Nepantla is a Nahuatl word which means "in the middle of it" or "middle." Nepantlera originates from Gloria Anzaldua’s work. She was an American scholar of Chicana cultural theory, feminist theory, and queer theory. The word Nepantlera means “boundary-crosser, thresholders who initiate others in rites of passage, activistas who, from a listening, receptive, spiritual stance, rise to their own visions and shift into acting them out, introducing change.” source
“Reflection is the examination of one's own conscious thoughts and feelings. In psychology the process of reflection relies exclusively on observation of one's mental state, while in a spiritual context it may refer to the examination of one's soul.” source
For the past fifteen years my writing has been a beacon of light throughout my healing journey. Reflection and introspection through writing is my preferred method of healing. I’ve reached a point in my journey where I am being called to share my reflections.
I chose the word ‘reflection’ because that is what I am; we are all reflections of each other. May every word I write reflect the light that lives within me. May they inspire, shift, and light your path.
These are my reflections.
